A video arcade made with artists Bast and Faile
We worked with the artists Faile and Bast to translate their visual work and ideas into a set of game-like interactive pieces, which we installed on vintage arcade machines. The cabinets themselves used original hardware from 1985-95 that were covered in posters and paint by the artists. Deluxx Fluxx debuted at the Lazarides gallery in London, 2010 and a year later at a popup event in New York’s Lower East Side. Seth Jabour provided the original soundtrack.
As part of the team at Adapted I was involved with this project from concept to completion. I researched hardware solutions to retrofit vintage arcade games, concepted games with the artists, helped design and develop the games and finally to install them for the gallery show.
